MARAMURES / VADU IZEI / Guesthouse CASA TRADITIONALA BORLEAN

A very nice traditional house, completely renovated, placed at about 1,5 km of the main street, at the confluence of Mara and Iza rivers. The inside decorations are chosen with lot of good taste, to recreate the look of an authentic Maramures house: carpets, the Sacel pottery and other domestic objects. Glass painted icons, painted by your host, have their honour place in the house. If you wish, you can buy such icons directly from the painter himself, Ioan Borlean.
The insides are very pleasant, the wooden architecture creates interesting shapes; especially wooden beans are very spectacular.
Bathrooms are modern, and the kitchen is full equipped.
The courtyard, abounding of grass and flowers, located at about 100m from the river, is the best place for having a quite rest one sunny Summer afternoon, far away from modern civilisation noises.
Your young hosts will take care of you for the whole length of your stay.
You will return anytime with pleasure to spend your holidays in this guesthouse!

Access by car: arriving on the DN 18 national road from Baia Mare to Sighetu Marmatiei, pass the crossroad to Moisei in the centre of the commune Vadu Izei and continue about 300m. Turn right after the local dispensary and continue on a narrow country road in the village about 750m, till you reach a "T" crossroad. Turn left and continue about 250m on a country road. The guesthouse is the second before the last on the left side and has a nice carved Maramures gate at the entry in the courtyard.
