MARAMURES / IEUD / Guesthouse ILEA

A wooden guesthouse in consistency with the Maramures style, located in a quiet place, at the foot of the hill. There is no other building around.
The indoors are decorated with objects typical of the region: hand-sewed vividly coloured curtains, woollen carpets, painted plates. From the terrace at the first floor you have a wonderful perspective, and on clear days you can see the Pietrosul Rodnei mountain in the distance.
Outside there is a dining place, interesting as architecture; from here you will enjoy the beautiful landscape with forested hills, the church towers. In the evening, you feel the village preparing to sleep: it is quieter and quieter, the roosters have stopped crowing, the hens are silent, the carts are slowly coming to their homes and the house looks like in a fairy tale.
Your hosts are young and kind. Being teachers, they will be glad and proud to relate you the history of the places and will be happy to help you discover the beauty of the lands.
You will come again in your future holidays and it is sure that your stay will be longer!

Access by car: from entry panel "Ieud", drive about 2,7km, passing near the Town hall ("Primaria" in Romanian") as far as the church "din ses" (on the right), continue 1km, leaving behind the school (new white building, on the right side), in the second crossroad after the school turn right on a narrow country road , drive 40m as far as the "T" crossroad and turn right, continue some more 200m on the road. The guesthouse is the last on the right side of the road.

A C T I V I T I E S

	- discover farm activities (milking, mowing etc.)
	- visits in the village: the peasant mechanical complex, water mill, whirlpool, the alembic (plum brandy distiller), the wooden churches in Ieud, traditional Maramures houses in the hamlet of Plopsor
	- visits in the region with or without guide
	- walks across the meadowed hills up to Botiza (the path starts near the guesthouse)
	- festive dinners, anniversary parties with local violin players (cetersai)
	- rides in a horse-drawn cart or sleigh
