BOTIZA/ Guesthouse CASA POIENAR

Two beautiful housse, a refurbished traditional house and a brand new one, with ground floor and first floor, placed in a quiet area, away from the centre of the commune. If you open the windows in the morning, you will hear the ripple of the river. Behind the houses there is a small garden, beautifully arranged.
At the first floor there is a beautiful exhibition with different traditional sewing, wooden weaving loom where the host will show you how the famous carpets from Botiza are made.
The view of the green hills covered with grazing fields and forests is very relaxing.
The host, very discrete and with an impeccable behaviour, will please you products from his own farm, not forgetting the home made plum brandy (horinca) or bilberry brandy.

Access by car: from the centre of Botiza (the junction with Sasului Valley, across the new church), continue on the main street about 600m, pass the Hall, go on to the second curve; the house has a small signing panel in front "PENSIUNEA CASA POIENAR".

A C T I V I T I E S

	- weaving loom demonstrations - you can even learn to weave
	- taking part to the farm activities ( hay collecting, cow milking etc.); rides in a horse drawn cart or sleigh
	- festive dinners (up to 50pers) with "ceterasi" - traditional music players
	- hikes in the surrounding area (Valea Sasului, Ieud, crossing the meadows over the hills up to Poienile Izie, Glod etc.)
	- visit the handicraftsmen from the village
	- visits in the region: the churches in Ieud, the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta, the wooden churches from Iza and Mara valleys, the Village Museum in Sighet, new Barsana wooden monastery etc.
