MOLDOVITA

Located far from the main road, the CASA IVASEC guesthouse in Moldovita is a real oasis of calm and quiet. All around, the hills covered with pastures and fir forests delight the eye. Every now and then, the typical sounds of the village(the rhythm of horses’ hooves, the cocks’ crowing or the dogs’ faraway barks) trouble the calm. The view is special, particularly as there are few houses close by the guesthouse. The house has a special living room, due to its height, but especially to the interior decorations. The big fireplace where fir wood is burning, spreading out sparks, offers you the possibility to spend a romantic evening or organise a more special family anniversary. The Ivasecs are hospitable, and will take delight in helping you discover the places of “sweet Bucovina”, as its inhabitants use to call it. Places: 8  Access by car: from the Vatra Moldovitei village (where there is the Moldovita monastery), drive on towards “Moldovita”; from the entrance plate to Moldovita, keep driving about 1.5km, then, when coming out of a tight turn to the right, turn left in a tight (sharp) angle, getting off the asphalt road and driving down a country road; from here, continue about 700m, following the railway tracks for a while, and pass over a bridge, then cross the railway, turning right; the house is on the left side, after having crossed the railway.

		- discovering farming activities: haymaking and -stacking, milking etc.   - trips around the area and discovering plants and wildlife: your host is an arduous hunter and can serve you as guide   - discovering timber felling and processing activities   - demonstration of(and learning to) paint and draw patterns on Easter eggs, this is a custom passed on from one generation to the next   - rides in a horse-drawn cart or sleigh   - various visits to the area: the painted monasteries, the Suceava Fortress, the black pottery workshops in Marginea etc.
